Charter Towers

Charter Towers features fine heritage architecture which reflects their rich history. In the past, it was a productive gold mining town, and at present, interest in the mining industry has been renewed. The city’s One Square Mile offers a view of the buildings of the period of the late 1880’s, when the gold rush was at its peak, and the town was the second largest in Queensland.
Townsville
Townsville Accommodation is the third biggest city in Queensland and also serves as North Queensland’s capital. The city provides the best jump-off point for exploring the Great Barrier Reef. There are also numerous National Parks and rainforests nearby as well as the outback. Townsville is located on the coast of Cleveland Bay. Visitors would enjoy visiting The Strand Waterfront, which provides great swimming and recreation areas. The Strand is, in fact, the only venue for safe saltwater swimming during the summer due to the proliferation of stingers in the area.

Whitsundays

These 74 islands lie along the coast of Queensland, between the state and the Great Barrier Reef. As will be expected, these islands are the best diving and fishing spots in the State. Some islands have now been turned into picturesque resorts. Most of these islands, however, remain uninhabited and have been placed under protection in order to preserve the diverse natural species residing in them. All these islands are flanked by the most colorful corals and marine animals from the reef. Visitors often enjoy the great selection of seafood that these areas have to offer.
